PARENTS' AND FRIENDS' ASSOCIATION

 
The Parents’ and Friends’ Association is a group of parents who organize various fundraisers throughout the year and provide support for school activities.

Meetings

• We meet once a month during school terms and everyone is most welcome to attend and be involved in discussions and planning for up coming events
  
• At the beginning of the year we try and plan our fundraising activities. New ideas are always appreciated
  
• Meetings are advertised in the school newsletter
  
• Meetings are in the PFA Room (Old school building in Milton Street)

Activities/Fundraising

• Throughout the year we run several major fundraisers. These include –
 
  
› Walkathon
  
› Mothers’ and Fathers’ Day stalls
  
› Twilight Fair
  
• Other fundraisers may include –
 
  
› SPC canned fruit
  
› Family Portraits
  
› Chocolate Drives
  
› Bulb Drives
  
› Raffles
  
• A variety of fundraisers are offered to cater for individual needs
  
• We provide support for school activities such as -
 
  
› Hot Lunches
  
› Grade 6 Graduation
  
› Catering for special events
  

What is required of you?

• You can devote as much or as little time to the PFA as you want
  
• Twilight Fair
  
 We ask all families to support the Twilight Fair by
 
  
› Donating at least 1 hour of you time on a stall
  
› Baking cakes
  
› Selling raffle tickets
  
› Assisting in any other way you can
  
• Other Events
 
  
› Helping prepare Hot Lunches
  
› Distributing chocolates, fruit, hot cross buns etc
  
› Purchasing/wrapping gifts – Mothers’ & Fathers’ Day stalls
  
› Catering for special event

Aims

• Raise funds for the school
  
• Money raised can be used to assist in the provision of equipment for the school eg: books computers and other school resources
  
• To provide support to the school and assist with school events
  
• To provide an opportunity for parents etc to get together in a friendly and relaxed group

• Great way to meet people and make friends
  
• Knowing that your efforts benefit your child/ren and other students at the school
  
• Opportunity to put forward your ideas regarding fundraising
